In the real estate industry since 2001, Susie increasingly saw the need for a company built entirely on service, client advocacy, innovation, and a pure drive to help clients win in the market. She launched White Oak in 2010, not letting a nationwide recession stop her from bringing her unique, energetic approach to real estate to life. Susie credits her entrepreneurial drive, respect for client service, and a knack for educating-to- sell to her father, Ralph DeVille, who opened and operated a renowned retail store on Highlands’ Main Street for 55 years. Her penchant for advocacy and getting to the heart of what clients need comes from undergraduate studies in anthropology at UNC-Chapel Hill and a Masters in Entrepreneurship from Western Carolina University. In 2018, Susie sold White Oak Realty Group to Pat and Bee Gleeson so that she could continue working in real estate while pursuing her other passion, connecting entrepreneurs with their innate creativity through her venture, the Innovation & Creativity Institute. Deeply rooted in Highlands with an unwavering love for the community and giving back, Susie has also launched two nonprofit organizations in the area, backed by her Certificate from Duke University in Nonprofit Leadership. She continues to support local nonprofits in honor of her clients at each closing.
